Library Cards
How to get a Walled Lake City Library card.
Residents of the City of Walled Lake are eligible for a card granting full borrowing privileges for 3 years. The card may be renewed at the end of each 3-year period if residency is maintained.
Non-residents whose place of employment or place of business is in the City of Walled Lake are eligible for a card granting full borrowing privileges for 1 year. The card may be renewed at the end of each 1-year period if the place of employment or business continues to be in the City of Walled Lake.
Non-residents who have valid library cards from public libraries that are members of The Library Network (TLN) consortium may use those cards at the Walled Lake City Library. Click here for a list of TLN member libraries.
Non-residents who live in an area served by a TLN member library, but do not have a library card, may obtain a temporary library card from the Walled Lake City Library which is good for 30 days. A maximum of 3 items may be checked out on a temporary card at one time. Patrons who use temporary cards are encouraged to visit the TLN-member library located in their own municipality to obtain a permanent library card before the 30-day expiration date. Temporary cards are not renewable.
Non-residents who live outside an area served by a TLN member library may obtain non-resident library cards with proper identification. Non-resident library cards have restricted borrowing privileges.
Library cards are free and may be obtained at the Library with proper identification. For full borrowing privileges, residency in the City of Walled Lake must be documented. We require at least one current document containing your name and address. Examples of acceptable documentation are: Driver's license or state ID card; automobile registration; voter registration card; utility bill; personal checks; lease agreement; or bank statement.
Lost library cards will be replaced for a $2.00 fee.
