Macy's and the Cultural Alliance of Southeastern Michigan has made possible this great opportunity for families to visit metro area museums and other cultural institutions at little or no cost.  Pick up free admission passes at area public libraries through October 2010.  For more details, visit www.detroitadventurepass.org/

FREE CHILD-SAFE WEB BROWSER FOR HOME USE

Yes, it's free!  Visit the Library and download "ELF," a web browser designed by Advanced Workstations in Education (AWE).  ELF is used in the Library for children's Internet access.  ELF features strong web-filtering with a kid-friendly interface that includes great educational websites and fun games.  Plus it's easy to install and use.  Copy the installation file to a USB drive, take it home, and install it on as many PCs as you like.

FREE PASSES TO STATE PARKS

DNR and Michigan’s libraries are once again teaming up this summer to offer free one-day passes to any of Michigan’s 98 state parks through the “Park & Read” program.  Just present a valid library card at the Library to get your free pass.

STORYTELLER'S CONNECTION

We are looking for volunteer readers to read or tell stories to children in the classroom and at the Library.  Visits are coordinated by library staff.  To learn more about this exciting opportunity, call the Library at 248-624-3772 or email admin "at" walledlakelibrary.org.  You can pick up an application at the Library or download one here.
